MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Platform Guide

How to access and use the MetaTrader 5 trading platform for Tradeify 247. Covers login, platform overview, placing orders, and managing positions.

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a professional trading platform available for Tradeify 247. This guide covers how to access your account, navigate the platform, and place your first trades. DXTrade is also available — see our DXTrade Platform Guide.

Important: MetaTrader 5 is not available to traders in the United States. US-based traders can use DXTrade instead. MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is not supported.

Accessing MT5

MT5 is available in three formats:

Desktop Application — Download MetaTrader 5 for Windows or Mac from here. This is the most fully featured version, with complete charting, one-click trading, and support for Expert Advisors.

Web Terminal — Trade directly in your browser with no download required. The link to access it can be found here.

Mobile (Phone / iPad / Tablet) — Download the official MetaTrader 5 app for Apple iOS or Google Android. Unlike DXTrade, the official MT5 mobile app DOES work with Tradeify 247 accounts — simply log in using your Tradeify MT5 credentials and server (see below).

Getting Your Credentials

After purchasing your account: MT5 credentials are distinct from your Tradeify 247 Dashboard login details. Ensure you use the correct credentials for each platform.

Retrieve your MT5 credentials directly from the Tradeify 247 Dashboard:

  1. Log into the Dashboard using your account credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Accounts section.

  3. Click the Key icon (🔑) next to your account to reveal your MT5 login number and password.

  4. Use the copy buttons provided to ensure accuracy when copying your credentials.

Logging In to MT5

  1. Open MT5 (desktop, web, or mobile).

  2. Go to File → Login to Trade Account (desktop) or tap Settings → New Account → Login to an existing account (mobile).

  3. Search for the server: "TradeifyVentures-247"

  4. Enter your login number and password from the Dashboard.

  5. Click Login. Your account balance and symbols will load once connected.

Tip: If the server doesn't appear in the search, type the full server name exactly as shown in your Dashboard credentials.

  • Buy Stop / Sell Stop — Becomes a market order when price reaches your trigger level. Used for breakout entries.

  • Buy Stop Limit / Sell Stop Limit — Becomes a limit order when price reaches your trigger. Combines a stop trigger with limit execution.

Managing Positions

  • View Open Positions: Check the Trade tab in the Toolbox to see all your current trades, including entry price, current P&L, and margin used.

  • Modify Orders: Right-click an open position and select Modify or Delete to change your stop loss or take profit. You can also drag SL/TP lines directly on the chart.

  • Close Positions: Right-click a position and select Close Position, or click the X next to it to close at market price.

Account Monitoring

Keep track of these key metrics at the bottom of the Trade tab:

  • Equity — Balance plus unrealized P&L from open positions

  • Margin — Capital locked as collateral for open positions

  • Free Margin — Available capital for new positions

  • Margin Level — Equity divided by used margin (percentage)

Tips for Success

  • Always use stop losses — Protect your account from unexpected moves

  • Monitor your drawdown — Know how close you are to your limits

  • Start small — Test your strategy with smaller positions first

  • Remember the 20-second rule — Hold all trades for at least 20 seconds

Q: How do I calculate my position size?

A: Position size depends on the cryptocurrency, your account leverage, and your risk tolerance. MT5 shows your required margin and free margin before you confirm a trade.
