The 2-Step Evaluation has two phases with progressively lower profit targets. This is our most affordable evaluation path to a funded account where you keep 80% of your profits.
For a comparison of all evaluation types, see the Evaluations Guide.
How It Works
The 2-Step Evaluation splits the qualification process into two phases. Phase 1 has a higher profit target (10%) to demonstrate your trading ability, while Phase 2 has a lower target (5%) to confirm consistency. Both phases use Static Max drawdown rules your drawdown limits are fixed and never change.
Phase 1 Requirements
Requirement | Value |
Profit Target | 10% of account size |
Daily Drawdown | 3% of account size |
Max Drawdown | 6% (Static) |
Time Limit | Unlimited |
Phase 2 Requirements
Requirement | Value |
Profit Target | 5% of account size |
Daily Drawdown | 3% of account size |
Max Drawdown | 6% (Static) |
Time Limit | Unlimited |
Example (50K Account):
Phase 1: Reach $55,000 balance (10% profit = $5,000)
Phase 2: Reach $52,500 balance (5% profit = $2,500)
How Drawdowns Work
The 2-Step Evaluation uses a Static max drawdown and a daily loss limit measured from your previous day's closing balance. This means your Max drawdown limit is calculated from your starting balance and never changes — it does not trail upward as your account grows. Your Daily Drawdown limit is recalculated each day at 22:00 UTC (5:00 PM ET in winter / 6:00 PM ET during Daylight Saving) from your previous day's closing balance.
Daily Drawdown (3%)
Daily Loss Limit Example
At 22:00 UTC (5:00 PM ET in winter / 6:00 PM ET during Daylight Saving), the Daily Loss Limit Snapshot is taken.
In this example, the snapshot balance is $101,500.
The Daily Loss Limit is $3,000, which means the maximum allowed daily drawdown is calculated as:
$101,500 (snapshot balance) − $3,000 (daily loss limit) = $98,500
This results in a Daily Drawdown Figure of $98,500.
Your account equity (balance plus unrealized P&L from open positions) must remain above this level at all times during the trading day. If your equity drops below $98,500 at any point — including from an open losing trade — a Daily Loss Limit violation occurs and the account is breached immediately. The breach check uses live equity, so you do NOT need to close the trade for the breach to trigger.
Static Max Drawdown (6%)
Static Max Loss Example (100K Account)
Starting account size: $100,000
Max Loss (Static): $6,000
The Static Max Loss is fixed from the starting balance and does not trail or move based on profits or losses.
The maximum allowable loss is calculated as:
$100,000 (starting balance) − $6,000 (max loss) = $94,000
This creates a Max Loss Figure of $94,000.
Your account equity (balance plus unrealized P&L from open positions) must remain above $94,000 at all times. If your equity drops below this level — including from an open losing trade — a Max Loss violation occurs and the account is breached immediately. The breach check uses live equity, so an open losing trade can breach the account before you close it.
Funded Account: Minimum Profitable Days
Once you pass to a funded account, you need 3 profitable days before you can request your first payout. A profitable day is any trading day where your account gains 0.5% or more of the account size. The trading day resets at 22:00 UTC (5:00 PM ET in winter / 6:00 PM ET during Daylight Saving).
Neither Phase 1 nor Phase 2 has a profitable-day requirement — this applies only to the funded account, before your first payout.
What 0.5% means by account size:
Account | 0.5% Daily Gain |
$10,000 | $50 |
$25,000 | $125 |
$50,000 | $250 |
$100,000 | $500 |
Example (50K Account): Any day you finish up at least $250 (0.5% of $50,000) counts as one profitable day. You need 3 such days on your funded account before your first payout.
Funded Account: Drawdown (No Payout Lock)
After passing the 2-Step evaluation, your funded account keeps the same Static 6% max drawdown. The floor is fixed at your starting balance minus 6% and never moves — it does not trail up as you profit, and it does not move when you request a payout.
2-Step Funded accounts do not have a Payout Lock. They are the only funded account type without one. On a $50,000 account, the floor sits at $47,000 — before your first payout, after your first payout, and for the life of the account.
Before payout: Floor = starting balance minus 6% (e.g., $47,000 on a $50K account)
After first payout: Floor unchanged — still starting balance minus 6% (e.g., $47,000 on a $50K account)
The Payout Lock is used on 1-Step Funded, Instant Funding, and APE-X accounts, where the first payout permanently fixes the floor at the starting balance. It does not apply to you on a 2-Step Funded account.
Profit Targets by Account Size
Account | Phase 1 Target (10%) | Phase 2 Target (5%) |
$10,000 | $1,000 | $500 |
$25,000 | $2,500 | $1,250 |
$50,000 | $5,000 | $2,500 |
$100,000 | $10,000 | $5,000 |
Want to upgrade your 2-Step account? At checkout you can add Profit Split 95%, Daily Soft Breach, or Double Leverage.
